No chances for the south teams in this Mini Cup 2023, with huge differences in the games for Real Betis and Unicaja. Both teams are showing inconsistency on both sides of the court. Unicaja has suffered two big losses in the first two games played against Joventut and Gran Canaria. Joventut has shown great team play, sharing the ball from one side to the other and being aggressive to the rim. Gil offered the best performance, almost getting a triple double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
On the other side, a great game for Oku against Gran Canaria. The numbers only says the half, being so productive in his match-up against one of the best players of the first two days, Badji from Gran Canaria. The center has shown some interesting points.
As it uses to happen, Real Madrid is one of the favorite teams to reach the final and become the champion for this Minicup. This year, Real Madrid U13 team has presented Landoure. The big man, with 2.11 meters, dominated the paint in only 11 minutes in his first game: 11 points and 17 rebounds.
The second day offered the best game at this point. Joventut and FC Barcelona was a clash of titans, with a close game, won by FC Barcelona 64-61. Oku and GIl were the main characters of this thriller as they did in the first game, scoring 17 and 18 points respectively.
But the records were broken by Badji from Gran Canaria once again. He scored 25 points and 31 rebounds to win against Unicaja.
Another great performance was made by Stefan Banica, a young player invited for UCAM Murcia to this tournament. Banica scored 15 points and captured 21 rebounds in the win against Betis, giving a chance for his team to reach semifinals. The Slovenian star has shown great skills, scoring ability and a good size for his age, considering that Minicup is a U13 tournament.
